Nhờ anh/chị góp ý giúp em về cách dịch hai thuật ngữ này trong nhân học ạ: “Physical Anthropology” và “Constitutional Anthropology”
Em có đọc các tài liệu khác nhau trên Internet thì thấy có một số điểm như sau:
- “Physical Anthropoloygy” là thuật ngữ dùng từ nhiều năm trước, bây giờ đa số các tài liệu dùng thuật ngữ phổ biến hơn là “Biological Anthropology”, với nghĩa tương đương. Em đang phân vân giữa 2 cách dịch là “Nhân học thể chất” và “Nhân học sinh học”. (Link tham khảo: Nhân học sinh học – Wikipedia tiếng Việt)
Tuy nhiên, cũng có một cuốn sách do PGS.TS. Nguyễn Lân Cường viết với tên gọi “Nhân học hình thể”, tiếng Anh: Physical anthropology (https://bio.hnue.edu.vn/Tin-tức/Tin-tức-Sự-kiện/p/gioi-thieu-sach-moi-nhan-hoc-hinh-the-physical-anthropology-6710)
- “Constitutional Anthropology”: khi tìm kiếm cụm từ này thì gần như em chưa tìm được nguồn tài liệu nào đáng tin cậy mô tả chính xác định nghĩa. Nhờ anh/chị góp ý giúp ạ.

"One of the most famous studies in constitutional anthropology is that by Professor Hooton on the American criminal. His finding that criminals are, in general, biologically inferior has been disputed. Most reviewers have concluded that he took insufficient account of socioeconomic factors. Hooton makes it perfectly clear that criminals “do not bear the brand of Cain nor any specific physical stigmata whereby they can be identified at a glance.” However, he presents good evidence for certain associations. For example, among criminals as a group, those convicted of burglary and larceny are likely to be short and slender; those convicted of sex crimes are likely to be short and fat.
For many of Hooton’s major assertions the cautious reader must probably render the Scotch verdict of “not proven.” On the other hand, a demonstration that some of Hooton’s methods were unsatisfactory does not mean that a constitutional factor in criminality can be ruled out. In fact, a dispassionate critic must admit that the data strongly indicate that criminals in the United States do not constitute a random biological sample of the total population; nor is the distribution of physical types among those convicted of various classes of crimes that which would be expected from chance alone. To be sure, pressure of circumstances must fire the gun. But all that Hooton claims is that a constitutional predisposition makes some individuals more trigger-happy than others."
